Our GM just leveled up: Jen Booth earns her AMS designation

Big news from the K&K team. Our General Manager, Jen Booth, just earned her Association Management Specialist (AMS) designation from Community Associations Institute (CAI). If that sounds like alphabet soup, stick with us, because it actually means something good for every community we manage.

Yup - Jen is THAT big of a nerd.

So what is the AMS?

The AMS is the second step in CAI’s professional track for community association managers. To earn it, you first have to hold the CMCA (Certified Manager of Community Associations) credential, log at least two years managing associations, and complete advanced coursework on the financial, legal, and operational side of running an HOA. In plain English, it is a nationally recognized mark that a manager knows this industry inside and out.

Why it matters for your community

HOA management is more complicated than it looks. Budgets, reserves, compliance, vendor contracts, insurance, and ever-changing state law all land on the manager’s desk. The AMS says Jen has put in the work to handle all of it at a higher level, which means smarter guidance for your board and better protection for your property values.

And she is not stopping there

Jen earned her CMCA earlier this year and turned right around to complete the AMS, which tells you everything about how we operate. We do not sit still. Next up, she is setting her sights on the PCAM (Professional Community Association Manager), the highest credential a community manager can earn. We will keep you posted.

“I love this work, and I want our boards to have the best,” said Jen. “Every credential is really about giving our communities more confidence that they are in good hands.”

A little about Jen

When she is not collecting designations, Jen is one of the industry’s leading voices on using AI to manage communities smarter. She presented at CAI’s 2025 National Conference in Orlando, spoke at the CEO-MC Conference in Palm Springs, and serves on the membership committee for CAI’s Utah chapter (UCCAI). She co-founded K&K after more than a decade in property management in the Park City and Heber Valley area.
